That’s why Audi has had its Allroad options for a long time and why we’re seeing more and more of these butch estates – like the new Skoda Octavia Scout – as car buyers look to fill every possible niche.
Ford may need a smaller crossover in its lineup, and the new EcoSport--created in Brazil and designed for markets such as India--could fill that opening. Need evidence? This camouflaged prototype has been spotted on the streets in metropolitan Detroit.
Infiniti on Thursday released a first look at the JX seven-passenger crossover it plans to build at the Nissan assembly plant in Smyrna, Tenn. A concept of the JX will be shown publicly during the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August, and the production version is scheduled to debut at the Los Angeles auto show in November. The Infiniti JX is set to go on sale in spring 2012 as a 2013 model.
